The Summary

I'm a creative and strategic learning experience designer with six years of expertise in designing course content, interactive learning activities, and training materials in various settings.

I employ multiple modalities and cutting-edge technologies to create immersive branching secenarios and dynamic e-learning modules that capture learners' hearts and minds.

I'm skilled in AI applications, Captivate, Articulate 360, Figma, Vyond, Camtasia and Adobe Creative Suite, and I consistently incorporate current UX principles, adult learning theories, and accurate evaluation methods into my designs.

I've excelled in leadership roles, driving strategic plans and project initiatives, delegating tasks, and managing project deliverables while coaching and mentoring others throughout the process.

But that's not the whole story! I also have a serious case of wanderlust, and in the last 3+ years I've explored 5 countries and 32 U.S. states. I'm always game for a new trail to hike, restaurant to enjoy, or coffee shop to people watch in.

The Full Story

My career has been a continuous journey to excellence in teaching, technology and engagement.

Hitting The Trail

Intrigued by the way humans interact with their environment and each other, I hit the trail by earning a bachelor's degree in sociology.

In my studies, I focused on digital solutions to socio-economic problems and became convinced education and technology are our greatest tools for social uplift.

This belief led me to become an educator. Blending my love for teaching, technology and engagement, I crafted learning experiences that embraced multi-modal learning strategies and innovative, interactive technologies.

Navigating New Terrain

In March of 2020, Covid-19 halted in-person instruction, and our school pivoted to online courses.

Applying technological proficiency, I rose to the challenge of adapting our curriculum for a virtual instructor-led training (VILT) environment, including the creation of engaging, online learning experiences. As a result, I was promoted to the leadership team, where I worked collaboratively to design interactive learning experiences for an annual enrollment of 500-600 students.

Navigating the new terrain of e-learning delivery, I quickly adopted the development of storyboards, prototypes, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, agile), gamification, and learning theories, carefully collecting useful student and instructor feedback to iterate on my e-learning modules, ensuring peak accessibility and learner satisfaction levels.

In addition, I designed teacher trainings and produced client-facing informational videos, along with educational videos for students (script writing, filming, and editing). I also spearheaded the adoption of new software, mentored staff in the use of technology, and performed regular maintainance on our Learning Management System (LMS).

On a personal note, I seized the opportunity remote work affords to travel the world, exploring a new city or country each month while working full-time.

Gaining Elevation

Pursuing innovative growth in teaching, technology and engagement, I gained elevation by earning a master's degree in Learning Experience Design (LxD).

During my studies, I shifted my focus to adult learning theory and the creation of interactive e-learning modules that successfully address employee performance gaps and fuel company business goal achievement.

I gained mastery of the end-to-end design process, User Experience (UX) design principles, adult learning theories, and accessibility best practices that make learning more inclusive for all.

In addition, I became proficient in state-of-the-art softwares for instructional design: Storyline 360, Captivate, Vyond, AI applications, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and a wide range of learning management and content management systems (LMS, CMS).

Reaching The Mountaintop

New skills and knowledge in hand, I reached the mountaintop of demonstrated mastery by successfully executing a learning experience design project for adult learners at a major university.

I was tasked with creating a solution to address problems that students commonly encounter while attempting to conduct field interviews, for a course of sociological study that includes documentary film production.

After conducting extensive research and interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Stakeholders, I proposed an e-learning module, using a micro-lesson format and incorporating immersive branching scenarios that closely mirror real-world interviews in the field. I also proposed evaluation tools to measure the impact of the e-learning module on students' key performance indicators (KPIs) and to present an insightful report of data findings to senior university leadership.

I executed my project within the proposed timeline, creating a succesful e-learning module that resulted in increased self-reported student confidence levels to peak (4-5 on the Likert Scale).

Seeking A New Adventure

I'm in search of my next adventure in learning experience design.

While I continue to spearhead a new iteration of my current project for the university, the bulk of my design work on this e-learning module is coming to an end.

I'm seeking a remote or hybrid role with an innovative company that encourages collaborative creation of highly engaging and accessible e-learning solutions.

I'll be a great fit for an organization that values high performance, lifelong learning, and empathetic, data-driven design. I'm a creative problem solver, fully committed to delivering the most engaging, accessible, and impactful learning experiences possible.
